The printer is all right for people on a small budget. The scanner performs adequately, and the prints are good. The speed is also fine considering a printer at this cost.
The problem is the ink, It guzzles ink like anything, so I started refilling, since the colour cartridge is for Rs. 1300 or so. The refiller told me that Canon wastes a lot of ink during power on, when it cleans nozzles, etc. HP is most cost effective as per him.
The printer is anything but quiet, specially when its pulling the paper. Worthwhile closing the door of the room before operating:-)
Paper jams are not much. Unlike the cheaper HP models, the orientation of paper is simple. It doesnt reverse on the path. Also, with the driver supporting double-sided, printing is really a breeze.
The MP Navigator software is adequate.
I recommend this to people who need to take an occasional print and do not want to block too much capital. If you want to print photographs, go EPSON, and for general purpose printing, listen to my friend, and buy HP.
