Sold my old film camera & opted for a digicam. After some netsearch & mouthshut reviews, I went for this camera. Here is why:
Good quality of lens, Zoom equivalent to 45-100mm.
3.2 megapixel sufficient for ordinary prints people go for.
Fairly easy to operate. The ’’Auto’’ mode is childishly simple, yet gives good quality photos. Scene mode is very convenient & easy. Manual mode needs some study though. Plenty of features are there for exploring.
Comes cheap at Rs. 7300 at Kolkata with bill & warranty.
3.2X digital zoom is ok for ordinary purposes.
Ability to view pics in TV.
Ability to record short movies ( 30 sec with 640 * 480 resolution).
Those having access to a PC & wanting to have good pics in an easy way will find this camera a boon.
Do not expect artistic things or professional quality. But if it is your first digicam go for Canon A400 by all means.
