At first I am little surprised that this beauty hasnt received even a single review! I personally own the Powershot A85 and just expecting to read something about what others have to say about it, landed here .
Anyways, I will give you a very crisp review of Canon Powershot A85.
Its a 4.0 Megapixel camera, with a lot of shooting modes. To shoot a indoor object, foliage object, underwater object the camera automatically enhances the colour component and make the photos more like the national geographic kinds.
More modes? Yes, there is a mode to click fast movies object, dimly lit objects, landscape mode (or panoramic view if you may call it!).
But you may ask, Ok enough of the modes, whats the USP?
The USP lies in the fact that it uses Compact Flash card for storing images. Did you know Compact Flash is nearly 60% of the cost of the Sony Memory Stick of the same capacity ? So immediately you can buy a 512 Mb card because it comes cheap compared to a Sony memory stick.
More USPs? here goes guys.It doesnt have an in-built battery like Sony digi-cams. It supports the normal AAA battery available in the market. Thats a plus! You can also put re-chargeable batteries. But you never have to bother of charging your digi-cam on a trip. Just carry spare batteries just like you did in the good old film camera days.
The results are SIMPLY FANTASTIC! The depth is PRAISEWORTHY!.
Aha, I forgot to talk about the video resolution. Its very acceptable and captures clips of upto 10 mins depending on your CF card capacity. You can attach it to your TV (cable is included) and view the videos. Very decent quality. No jumps. Captures sounds very very clearly.
Last but not least, it comes bundled with lots of software for image download and editing. USB cable is included.
I have been using this camera for nearly a year without any problems.
I strongly recommend it.
