We stayed at this so called resort which is nothing more than an old, damp and ill kept bungalow in shambles with blue plastic sheets on the roof (the blue color strikes out when u look for bearings while trekking in near by hills!!). It is exorbitantly priced, however I do agree that being fleeced is the norm here in case you land up doing last minute booking during Independence Day weekend. Fleeced to such an extent that a room inside the house was more expensive than so called cottage rooms in the compound !!! And the pugnacious manager had the cheek to tell us thats the way it is in CAPTANS.
Only solace was that meals were a part the package- Rs. 4000/- per couple per night. Also part of the package is the much talked about complimentary pick up and drop from the bus stand which happened only when we had lugged our travel bags half way through the treacherous climb and non existent road. P.S. the manager does not take calls when we tried to call him up to arrange the transport (pick – up) and duly argued on this when his guests arrived. Please do not expect room service etc., coz it’s a resort which is very far away from the main town and absolutely in the wilderness.
The only good part was that we were outdoors most of our waking hours and were trekking in the mountains, streams and waterfalls.
