Hands and feet are two parts of the body that come in contact with all the vagaries of nature- be it cold, hot or any kind of season.
Hands are vital to greet a person, and come in use quite often during the day. For feet we all know it is only the thing that takes you along for your life.In a lifetime it would have carried you millions of kilometers.
Care is quite essential for both but its always the feet that tends to get neglected by one and all. It has always been a poor cousin to the hand in respect to care.
Hands at times do get moisturized by the sheer act of applying a face cream but it is not so in case of a feet.
Sorry, the feet always cries out for attention but gets it only when it starts crying in pain because of fissures, and cracks on it.
Cracked heels is an acute problem of dry skin, most common among women in India and all over the world. To a smaller extent males also suffer from cracked heels.
Occurrence of cracked heels:
Cracked heels occur as a result of:
·Cold / Winter Dryness
·Working / prolonged exposure to water
·Heat / Summer Dryness
·Walking bare feet
·Dirt / Dust which could aggravate the problem
·Ageing and the consequent changes in the condition of the skin
The above factors cause the skin of the heels to become dry, hard, rough and the body weight of the sufferer cause the skin to crack – resulting in small fissures which get filled up with dirt and looks ugly and the neglect of these fissures lead to the fissures getting bigger, more pronounced to become cracks. Cracks on the feet get the required attention by most of the people only when it starts paining.
Always feel your hands and feet for any roughness, dryness and fissures to take necessary action before it becomes ugly, rough and painful.
How do you take care of dry hands and feet
Special care for hands:( during night before going to bed)Take a container of water, heat the water, add a few drops of glycerin, add two teaspoons of salt, if required you can add a few drops of eucalyptus oil/ Australian tea tree oil( to provide the necessary aroma to sooth your tired skin of the hands). Soak your hands in the container for a minimum of 10 minutes. After taking it out dry it with a towel and apply a good cream - I use Borosoft . The cream works on the skin for a minimum of 8 hrs while your asleep to give a soft supple hand that you love to flaunt.
Special care for Feet:( during night before going to bed)Take a container of water, heat the water, add a few drops of glycerin, add two teaspoons of salt, if required you can add a few drops of eucalyptus oil/ Australian tea tree oil( to provide the necessary aroma to sooth your tired skin of the feet).
Soak your feet in the container for a minimum of 10 minutes. After taking it out dry it with a towel, scrape the dead skin with a good foot scrapper and apply a good foot cream - I use Krack antiseptic cream- its got some very good ayurvedic ingredients that are quite good for the skin of the feet(which is thicker than the skin on other parts of the body). These ingredients work on the hard, rough skin and the fissures over night. If you want the cream to deliver better results you can cover your feet with a cotton socks. If one suffers from deep fissures it takes nearly a week of good application to solve the problem. If one has light cracks it starts showing results after 4 to 5 applications. The end result is soft, supple younger looking heels/feet.
All it requires is 10 minutes of care every night to keep both the hands and feet perfect and problem free.
I take regular care of my feet and hands because they too are important for ones overall beauty and appearance. According to me a well groomed person is one who takes care of all the body parts and does not neglect any.
