If you are looking for noisy inconsistent cheap(quality not price wise) piece of plastic, you should go for this one. Buying this piece of c**p was such a mistake. The idiots that came to install it from the dealer(Kay Dee Electronics, Sec - 18, Noida) fiddled around for six hours to install it and still failed and I had to call the Carrier Technicians to fix the installation. It took them about two days to figure out what is wrong with this unit.
The problem is that whenever the unit is mounted inside the outer casing that is screwed to the window frame and switched on, it made an unnerving grinding and screeching sound but on the floor or when placed on top of a stool it maintains its normal operating noise but no other noise. Well after toiling for two days the boys from carrier service center drew the conclusion the cheap Chinese plastic used to house the internal unit is not hard enough to hold up the heavy fan/exhaust motor in place and droops while its puts in the external casing on the window frame.
They came up with the ingenious plan to stick a piece of plywood between the internal unit and outer metallic frame and as we all know Air conditioners vibrate and vibrations lead to displacement of loose objects, so I have to get used to tweaking with the plywood every time it starts making that noise.
In my opinion please refrain from buying anything from carrier, as it is evident that quality has gone down considerably and beware of Kay Dee Electronics, Sec - 18, Noida, its full of swindlers and cheats who take people for a ride.
