I had visited Casa deep woods as part of a Bandipur-Madumalai trip, where we stayed in Casa deep woods(Madumalai) for one day and Tusker Trails(Bandipur) the next day. This place is a slightly steep for a jungle resort(about 3K per head, where others charge between 1.5 to 2K), but the place is really beautiful. I had visited in January, so the weather was nice and cool. the summers may get a little warm here.
The resort is situated off the Ooty road, and is reachable by car, although the approach raod is a dirt track really. The place has no fencing and is built right into the forest(as they claim). The cottages look really nice, nestled in large bamboo groves, which provide a cool shade - a bit of natural air conditioning!
Note that the place has no AC, no TV, or anything of the sort, but theres a lot to doo outdoors.
There is a small stream behind the cottages, where you can do a bit of exploring, but dont expect to spot any wildlife other than monkeys. There is also a platform built on top of a tree from where you can view the jungle. An open field provides the ground for cricket or badminton games, and for the more indoor-games type, a fuseball table(which is quite fun to play)!
The evenings are barbeque and cocktails time. You are allowed to carry your own drinks, although they do serve in case you forgot to stock up. The experience of a barbeque session in the middle of a jungle is quite nice in a large group. Everyone starts belting out ghost stories, or discussing their experiences in jungles etc.
To sum it up, its a real nice place to go in a group or for a weekend break, and if you like nature, youd enjoy the experience.
