I would like to share my very horrible experience with CASA RETREAT PVT LTD., I had bought their 3n/4d package in 2007 for 15500/-. I could not use the first two holidays. I decided to use my 3rd and final package this year. I had booked my holiday at Mussoorie for 2n and 1n at haridwar in the month of june for travel in the month of Sept26 to Oct4.
They had confirmed my booking and informed that all the arrangements have been done. Stay was arranged at "Honeymoon Inn" hotel at mussoorie. I was handed over the confirmation voucher with the dates. I proceeded with all my travel arrangements (done 3 months in advance - June) soon after receiving their confirmation. Here also they told me that the reimburesement of bills (food take at hotel where we stayed and local sightseeing) will be only 15% +15% (whereas contract explicitely specifies as 30%).
I proceeded to delhi for my onward journey to dehradun by train. when I landed in delhi, one Wonderful guy called Mr. Ravi (with whom I was co-ordinating for vacation plans and who handed me my confirmation voucher) called up and informed that the rooms are not avl in Mussoorie due to some govt employee delegation’s stay for a meeting being extended by one day (which is a blatant lie, you will discover very shortly) and that I have to stay in some other hotel (which is more like a rundown one) called "Howard International". He informed me that he has spoken to the concerned guy (he gave me the name), asked me to do the payment (1500/night) and that they would transfer to my account the next working day(mind it that I was in delhi just before ayudh pooja - holiday for 3 days). If required he is willing to extend my stay at haridwar for one more day(ie 1n at mussoorie and 2n at haridwar). since I had planned all my train bookings etc and had already gone till delhi, I did not have any other option but to agree for staying at the new hotel.
We arrived at mussoorie after quite a tiring journey. when we reached the alternative hotel, I got a shock of my life. even if I were to go on my personal visit, I would never stay in a hotel of that kind (even though my contract clearly specifies a 3 star accomodation - mind, not even equivalent, which they never even bother to honour). when I went to the reception of this hotel and asked for the concerned person(given by mr.ravi) and gave him the details, he was gleefully ignorant of the arrangement, he even did not acknowledge that he knew this person(from Casa Retreat) and simply said that he can arrange the rooms at whatever price I wanted!!!!!!!. After having a look at the room, I tried the bangalore office number to find that no one is responding!!!. I forgot that it was ayudh pooja. I simply walked over to the hotel (right opposite) where Casa Retreat had given me the confirmation voucher.
I went to the reception and handed over the confirmation voucher(without informing him abt the change). he informed that they never recvd booking for this slot from delhi (their and this Casa retreat offices at delhi). this clearly states that even though the booking was requested 3 months in advance, this was never executed. I asked him the question about govt employee’s stay being extended by one day due to meeting (which was told by this great person at bangalore) for which the receptionist clearly responded in negative. He informed that generally their hotel will be always full and they can give the room only if they rcv confirmation from their delhi office.
Luckily for me one of the person who had booked a room did not make it (all these time my wife and my son were waiting at roadside) and the hotel readily gave me the room on the condition that I have to pay and this will not be taken against the booking voucher. they would give me the room at the same price as that they give for Casa Retreat. the other condition was that the room was avl for one night only and if the person who has booking for next day comes then we have to vacate. We just took the room and stayed for the night, the room was quite good. We finished our touring of mussoorie and the next day hotel person informed that we have to vacate. We checkout and did balance local sight seeing and travelled to dehradun to finish at that place instead of hunting for rooms at mussoorie(i didn’t want to waste time and energy because of the purposeful blunder done by Casa Retreat people). We proceeded to haridwar, took an extension and told this great person to transfer the amount that I had paid at Honeymoon Inn at mussoorie, completed my very eventful holiday.
After I arrive in bangalore I checked my account to find that they have not kept their word. after few phone calls, I was asked to come to office to collect the cheque (this is again even though it was their fault and my only blunder that I took this package offered by these useless persons).
I went to their office on 15th of oct and was sent to their V.C.C office somewhere nereby. I went to that place (as I had to get my money-this was the advantage which these people made use of very well) and collected my cheque only to find that it was post-dated for 20th of Oct.
Well this is what happened with my package taken from these guys and WAS TAKEN FOR A SOLID RIDE. I was made to adjust my holidays as per their requirements and not me enjoying as per my reqt.
My sincere suggestion to anyone who gets a call from these guys - JUST POLITELY TELL THEM TO KEEP THE RECEIVER DOWN
