The name is Bond, James Bond. One of the best things about
the new genre of Bond movies, is that ‘Q’ has moved away from giving Bond
extremely far-fetched high-tech gadgetry. They now make use of everyday gadgets
and devices which might even be readily available and utilised by the aam-junta.
I’m glad they did that, because the name is Bond, not Inspector Gadget. By doing so, the also make ‘Bond’ a more realistic hero. One who overcomes adversities in a manner closer to reality.
Daniel Craig does a good job as Bond, but he lacks the smoothness, style and stiff upper-lip wit of Pierce
Brosnan. I feel Brosnan may have been able to do a better job of this movie, but
that’s open to debate.
Eva Green is stunning (as all Bond girls are), and I like how her fate affects Bond, and hardens him for the future. In other words, a new dimension to Bond’s character, namely.. emotions.
Definitely worth a dekko. The stunts are superb, the plot is fast-paced. It lacks a bit on the razzle-dazzle hitherto associated with Bond movies, but that could be personal perception.
Happy watching!
