I still remember my childhood days when I found Multiplication really annoying. So I always sought the help of a calculator. Those were the times when calculators were just for our parents and we were not supposed to touch it. But for my petite calculations, I used to somehow lay my hands on my Dad’s calculator and get the job done.
Carrying a calculator to the class was like bringing a Pistol to a movie. Calculators were strictly prohibited. But I cant but laugh at the scenario now. So we conclude that for Engineers, an Engineering Calculator is a must.
Okay. Now to the question of which calculator to choose!! Nowadays, the market is wide open. There are innumerous number of brands that come out. But among all of them I believe, Casio rules the roost. What is special about Casio is its User-friendly nature. Definitely it is got to be a Casio, that you should go for.
I prefer the Casio FX-82 TL because it is the automatic choice of any Engineering student. Let us know about the model. The Casio FX-82 TL model satisfies the norms set by the AICTE and its popularity among the students has made it a hotshot.

1. The Keys:- With case sensitive keys, the calculator comes in very handy when it comes to quick calculation. The functions are printed in a crystal clear fashion and this helps the user. The keys are strong and definitely durable.

5. Display: - This is the most attractive thing out here. We get a display of both the input and output, enabling us to now if we have committed some mistakes. If any error is found out, one can always correct it, using the “DEL” key. Also, “Reply” key fecilitates a look into the input data.
What this model doesn’t have? This model has no stored data of universal constants. Moreover it lacks the integration function. And it is not programmable. Other than this, I think, this calculator doesn’t lag behind any others.
With just an AA sized battery, the calculator has been running for more than two years now. So definitely it is energy efficient and durable. As far as the strength of the case is concerned, there is nothing to worry. I have dropped it a thousand times and not a scratch was traced under the electron microscope. Oh! Sorry!! That was a bit too much, but believe me, its really good.
Finally, I can only say that if you have purchased a Casio FX 82-TL model then you shouldn’t have any regrets. But if you are entering an engineering college and need to buy a “Calci” then do purchase this product. It is highly recommended from my side.
