The Casio X - series is not your best bang for the buck. There are some good points too like, it has the full manual control you want (and which is sometimes missing in the better digital cams) but also has great easy point and shoot mode. The interface is excellent, selectable flash stop, shutter speeds to 16 seconds, widescreen panorama stitching, etc. It even makes short AVI videos. It uses a USB connection, is IBM Microdrive compatible (340MB of storage!), but then there are some deficiencies that this digicam had were, it is difficult to hold the camera still enough to avoid blurry images indoors. The second most obvious problem that the camera has is incorrect color. Outdoor pictures frequently ended up filled with patches of blue or green.
