THE STORY IN A GIST AND MY INTERPRETATION OF IT
as told before the movie is set upon the story of a conman named Frank William Abagnale Jr. one of the most impressive impersonator of all times. The story would ofcourse sweep you off your feet. The guy came from a good family, their lives took a U turn when his father was wrecked by the IRS. Its obvious from the movie that frank had a particular liking to his dad. His dad was his life in a sort of way. He liked his dad’s charm and used it many a times. How ever what will actually sweep you off your feet is how can a teenager barely 17, pull of such daring frauds. He learned on the job, taking advantage of good people on the way. Now I wont be roaming about giving advice to people. How can this person with out a university education get on about flying panam, being a doctor, pulling out check frauds in a moments notice... it all tellls us about the charm of the man and his dreams, he dreamed and dared to live it. now that is indeed some thing we should take a lesson from.
any ways anything set in motion will come to an end, so does his days of being a conman..... his love life failed and eventually he wore down. The movie shows tom hanks as a FBI agent who works in a-not-so famous bank fraud department of those times. This character is a no nonsense fellow and he is determined to catch this elusive criminal. The movie ends on a note that frank has taken a turn in his life and is working for FBI to solve difficult cases. and was paid hefty sums to make sure the documents and certificates issued by MNC’s are hard to counterfiet.
ABOUT THE REAL FRANK.
just out of curiosity I checked out his story, as per what I found there was no one named hanratty(tom hanks). there was one agent who was close but none who followed the case from the beginning to the end. I think it was another of liberties these people from hollywood take on making a inspired by true story movies.
And the story about his escaping a moving plane thru a toilet, frank is adamant that he did it ... and airline people say its impossible. You can check these things out .. just google the name and the website was movie-o or catchingthefrog.com I dont exactly remember.
IT IS A WORTH WATCH MOVIE, VERY WELL MADE AND ACTING IS SUPERB
