In early stages of e-commerce development there were very limited options available for having payment gateway linked to merchant’s website. But now that’s not the case. There are many service providers such as Payseal, HDFC Bank payment gateway, EBS etc.
Who are what?
Talking about payseal first. They dont have any specific packages in quotation. They charge based on company. It was known sometime back that they stopped processing master card for certain category of merchants....only their customers can tell the fact.
HDFC Bank gives Payment Gateway only to those whose pockets are full. Secondly, their processing time may take 2mnths upto 6 mnths. After this period if a merchant realise that gateway does not support platform on which website is developed....I am sure merchant will drop plan to launch e-commerce site.
EBS seems to be good option financially and for those merchants who want gateway within 10 days. Their new model has attractive pricing. Can be considered if multiple payment options are required.
