You can check if it is a genuine IPhone or not by entering the serial number or the IMEL number on Apple’s check coverage website.
This website will show the duration of the warranty Avaialble on that device. It should by 1 year from the date of activation. If the website throws an error saying invalid serial number or IMEI post 12 hours of activation, then the iPhone is not genuine.
I said post 12 hours because.
I purchased an iPhone 14 Pro Max from cellbuddy in Mumbai India. Right after activating the iPhone at the store, I came home and entered the serial number at “Apple’s check coverage” website. It said the device is not in warranty.
So, I called the cellbuddy right away to check why this is happening. They said me to wait for 12 hours for the phone to get activated completely with warranty.
I tried it after around 5 hours, the warranty on the above website started showing 1 year. So, try to wait for 12 hours maximum to check if the device is genuine.
