Product name: Cetaphil Cleansing lotion
Ingredients: Cetyl Alcohol IP — 2.650% w/w, Stearyl Alcohol IP — 0.260% w/w. Preservatives: Methyl hydroxybenzonate IP — 0.10% w/w, Propyl hydroxybenzonate IP —- 0.05% w/wButyl hydroxybenzonate BP — 0.025% w/w in a lotion base with propylene glycol
Method to use: Apply lotion & massage gently. Avoid scrubbing your skin. Rinse with water or remove by wiping the skin with soft cloth or cotton or tissue.
The claims of the product: Cetaphil Cleansing lotion is fragrance free and non-comedogenic. It has emollient properties, which leave the skin soft & supple. Its non alkaline pH of 6.3 to 6.5 approximates the normal skin pH and thereby does not disrupt the normal balance of the skin. Cetaphil Cleansing lotion is a non-soap & lipid free lotion that allows gentle and thorough cleansing without the irritation associated with harsh soaps and cleansers. It is specially formulated to be non-drying and non-irritating.
My Experience Coming to the review part,
Long story short : My skin type is - combination skin. Sometimes oily, sometimes dry but mostly oily in T-zone & dry elsewhere.
PRODUCT TESTING TIME : My skin became very oily all of a sudden and harsh cleansers ripped off all the oil leaving my skin extremely dry. I wanted a cleanser that would gently clean my face as well as not dry the skin out. That is when I came across Cetaphil. Cetaphil can be used in 2 ways. One is the usual rinsing with water. The other way is to apply the lotion and then remove it using cotton. I went with method 2 at first. It wasn’t so effective so I switched to mode 1.
Cetaphil is a very gentle yet effective cleanser. It didn’t irritate my skin rather did it strip off the natural oils from my face. The only cons I found in the product were - the fragrance & its inability to remove make up effectively.
Bottom line. A gentle yet effective face cleanser.
