I dont get what exactly is wrong with people nowadays. Chaat is one food category which is best experienced on beaches only. Now, as we cant find enough time to visit one, you are supposed to eat from roadside vendors only if you really call yourself a Mumbaikar. The epic most phenomena of Mumbaikar that he/she doesnt believe in hygiene.
Many roadside vendors sell Pani Puri at Rs. 15, the good road vendors at Rs. 20, authorized shops at 25 maybe more than that but not at all more than 30. Mind you, these prices earn them a good profit. Now when a guy, in any swanky mall, (I know its air conditioned) asks you sixty rupees for a plate of Pani Puri, you are meant to be dumbfounded.
However, if youre not really a foodie and just want to consume something to have selfies with it, then you should choose Chaat Bazaar at Goregaon East, Oberoi Mall. It is perfectly swanky, overpriced and ahem, hygienic. Overpriced is a very mild word to use, if I may state that. For value of money, it earns null. For ambience and decor, it earns good. But seriously ataste only once and forget place if you ask me.
