I’ve never come out of Chakra unsatisfied. This association dates back to my student days when Chakra was our fav. joint for annual, semi-annual bashes. The ambience is relaxing, without appearing cluttered or overdone. (I remember some time back, there was a tastefully done sheet of water flowing over a mirrored wall, very feng-shui!) The staff is patient and go well beyond the call of duty to ensure U’r comfort, and make sure busybody kids are kept engrossed.
The cocktails are a KO and not 2 B missed. I am almost tempted to say, I haven’t had cocktails that rival the ones served in Chakra. The food is always perfect. When we were students (and obviously unruly) they always set us up in their conference hall, apart from giving us a student discount. The real reason for this special treatment might have been to keep us away from the eyes & ears of decent folks. But it was such wild fun, now I feel a little sorry for the staff who’d have to clean up the mess we’d make. On a student allowance the prices seemed a little steep, but now I feel they are downright reasonable. I still frequent this place whenever I’m around, not just for a massive dose of nostalgia, but bcoz it’s still as good as it was then. Try this place once, I’m sure U’ll become a regular.
P.S. Do not, I repeat, do not forget to top-off your meal with the exquisite ’paan’ sold near the entrance. It is a must for the complete experience.
