’Chalte-Chalte’
is a story of two absolutely opposite personalities falling in love; girl already engaged with her childhood friend, letting go of ’love’ for her family’s sake, guy following her with ’love-happens-only-once’ attitude, and eventually getting successful in wooing her and getting married to her; their opposite nature becoming cause of their everyday altercations, eruption of misunderstandings, getting seperated, ’cannot-do-without-each-other’ kinda feelings and finally, getting together once again.
If I would be asked to describe ’Chalte-Chalte’ in one sentence then I would say, ’’DDLJ & Saathiya combined articulately!!’’.
This movie created lots of expectations but was not able to come up to it. I think it would have been a major failure if SRK wouldn’t have been in it. The only reason people went for it was SRK, refreshing looks of Rani and the beautiful locales exhibited in the promos.
The reasons for the movie being a fiasco:
The movie went off the track by bringing in Sameer as the rich Armani clad guy as Priya’s childhood friend.
Love-hate relationship between the two was not projected clearly.
Run-of-the-mill music.
Emotional scenes were not very emotional.
Bad script.
Johnny Lever in a very sentimental role.
Now, a bit of appreciation. Afterall, every bad thing has something good about it. At least, thats what I believe in.
SRK was as charming as always.
Rani was quite good and her dressing was apt to the character, that of a Fashion designer.
’Pyar humko bhi hai’ was good with the capacity to portray what exactly the situation was.
