Too real to be true...

Let me tell you, I have never been a fan of Ms. Kapoor Jr, thought she was obnoxious as Poo(p), very loud in Mujhsey Dosti Karoge and compeletely not required in Ashoka. But, I was impressed with her in ’Chameli’. The role appears tailor made for her, and she has done a reasonable job. Rahul Bose is great as a sophisticated, calm Investment Banker.

The story.....fate (disguised in the form of Mumbai Rain) makes Rahul Bose bump into a sex-worker, Chameli (aka Lolo Jr.)! No, no before you go on guessing....this is not a love story, so no sparks fly!! In fact there is not even an indication. Chameli is out there to do ’business’ and looks at Bose as a prospective client.

As the story unfolds, both start knowing more about neach other, sharing their secrets/ past stories. The ’rendezvous’ is interrupted by the ’corrupt’ cop, Chameli’s ’mooh-boola’ bhai, a transvestite, her pimp.

Thought the movie was doing good until the pim shows up, and it takes a different turn. Didn’t quite like the middle part, and thought the climax was a bit cliche (pretty woman!).

Overall, Kareena did a good job, though she does feel restrained in some scenes. Bose is great. The DCP at the end (don’t know the name) did a very impressive job as well.

Worth a watch!! Few good dialogues!!

My fav one was when she tells Bose about how she became a sex-worker!! Quite original!!
