Champak for most of Indian matures need no description. The name itself brings magic. Most of adults today had spent/enjoyed their wonderful childhood and school vacations reading Hindi issue of this pupular magazine.
Champak had two releases every month. I apologize for mentioning too much about the past since this magazine is available even today in stores. I will be writing for classic Champak in the review.
Champak(traditional) had 2-3 page short stories for kids with attractive beautful half page coloured images. Most stories had mention of jungle stories where jungle was named of "Champak" itself to attract kids. You can imagine the power of name by this. So, the story section was full of witty stories most of animals in jungle personalised and some of village stories.
Other Attractions were suprise Jokes and Puzzles at bottom of some pages. It also had a joke section called "Dekho Has Na Dena" which had previous treasure of jokes which were very rare at that time.
Children were gifted by average of 3 Comics every issue. Most pupular and most published were Cheeku(rabit with his friend meeku), Muniya, Raja babu, Kaka(tortoise), robu and many more to recall. This color comics were source of attraction for even adults that time, owing to simplicity and sweet way of presentation.
Comic also had Color page where black and white outline images were given to color.
Anyways the mini magazine is still on sale and I have not much idea on its re-look and upgrades. The description I meantioned can 100% glorify champak correctly 1991-1997 issues, when I was regular reader of comic.
Please share with me your views on my description, I mean those who read in those years to recall childhood.
