Hey...Welcome to Chandigarh, a heaven to live in! The clean and green city with well-planned roads and monuments (thanks to Le Corbusier), well-managed and disciplined traffic, nice happening markets, extensive eating joints, open and unpolluted environment, optimum population and the list goes on and on... Its simply a marvellous city to live in. All th amenities of life including clean and pure water, very less power-cuts, local rehri markets in all localities etc. are there.
Happening places in Chandigarh include Sector 17 - a hap-hap place, wonderful market with all the brands and ladies stuff etc. One will find a happening crowd here anytime. Then comes Sukhna Lake - wow!!! A serene clean lake with tranquil environment, hills on one side and long well-maintained walking track on the other. There’s a restaurant and some commercial corners at the entrance. Right adjacent to the lake is Rock Garden - a unique gift from Nek Chand to a common man. Sector 35 is known for a variety of eating outlets and bars. Besides this, there are a number of theatres and cinema halls like Fun Republic in Mani Majra. Nada Sahib is a historic Gurudwara, which is widely visited. Morni Hills and Pinjore are wonderful picnic spots at the outskirts of the city.
Not only that, Chandigarh is full of wonderful big and beautiful gardens. There are flower festivals organized in every season. Number of exhibitions, melas, festivals and nites keep on coming up every weekend.
IT Sector is creeping in at slow and steady pace. Quark and Infy are the two major companies right now. I have been a Quarkian for quite some time. Just made a shift. But now, I miss the lush green, clean and sophisticated atmosphere of Chandigarh. Needless to say, its a place worth settling down for life.
