I will back Tashan and Singh is Kinng till this day, also agreeing thatthose films didnt offer much but I also know that they didnt promisemore than one thing calledEntertainment. One was a monster hit andthe other was a flop(no show at the Multiplexes being the biggestfactor) However CC2C is nothing but a vile piece of cinema which has agood story but a bogus and horrid screenplay, thats its seen to bebelieved!
Take this for instance, Mithun has a habbit of kicking Akshay Kumarup the backside, cut two we see Akshay Kumar flying across twobuildings, up in the sky and falling on the floor. Now if this washappening once or twice, fine but numerously the same scene being shownwas nothing but annoying!
Infact the entire Chandni Chowk portion was absolute trash -Deepikas introduction was one of the weirdest ever, shes a ad modelwhose advertising these ankle bands which make you dance the way youwant. I mean I was getting confused whether I was watching the actualmovie that was getting publicised or a film that they made and scrapedand thought well put this in the premiere shows!
Ridiculous
The China portions start off very well, with Akshay on the flightslamming the compartment box door on Ranvir Shoreys neck was a great comicscene, an action scene with Deepika follows. You tend to think the filmis now going to start but you were wrong. We are introduced to thisdevice that you put in your ear and the device is that of a languagetranslator for Hindi or Chinese speakers. Its not the device that gotto me, its the Bloody song they sang to introduce it - HORRIBLE!
Of course after much Stupidity, the 15 minute portion before theinterval is actually superb, very engaging and each character is superbin it.
The second half is about Akshay getting training, from a streetbeggar, so that he can fight against the mightyDado Hojo for areason that we Indian cinema lovers are all too familiar with!
Havent even got to the story - well apparently a bunch of Chineseguys, sick and tired of their village being used for smuggling suddenlyare told that their legendarry warriorLiu Sheing happens to be inDelhi, reborn you know. They mistake him for a sweaty cook named Sidhuwho has nothing better to do that shout his head off and cutvegetables. An astrologer namedChopstick played by Ranvir Shoreytricks Sidhu into going to China, not telling him the real reason, since this will make him rich(by the way, thats not explained well atall). The villagers wish to kill off the menacingDado Hojo butobviously Sidhu will not realise till a later date. It reminded me ofSholay, just with the little Chinese touch
As you can see, there is a story in the film, no doubt but itstreatment is not good at all and the partners in crime the actor andthe director Akki N Nikki are to blame for this!
Akshay Kumar is playing what he has mastered over the years, sadlyin this one hes in your face trying/forcing to make you laugh. DeepikaPadukone is good as the double roles, I liked her Chinese act more thanthe Indian one but she was good in this film. Mithun looked like aterrorist. Ranvir Shorey, oh please, get lost!
The guy who playsDado Hojo is the main reason to sit throughthis film. After a long time I have actually seen a movie from Indiawhere the villain, looks and feels much stronger than the hero. Hes anexcellent actor and its sad that his first Indian film isnt as goodas it could/should have been. The chinese guy who plays Deepikasfather is also excellent.
Music - Forced as usual, here comes a song, there comes a song butthe funniest song isTere naina - now you may ask, wasnt that aromantic number? well when you see it, youll know why I found ithillarious.
Technically, the film is sound, when you speak of cinematography, special effects, background music, editing was great, had it beenmatched by our desi actors performances, a proper screenplay withoutIdiotic comedy this film would have been one of the best of the yearand this Im saying knowing that it is the first major release of theyear!
Action is excellent, though a lot of people will criticise it, Iknow that already but you have to be familiar with the Chinese movieindustry for it to be liked by the majority. Akshay Kumars actionscenes are real good, also Hojos ones too, infact Action is its otherbig plus point and sadly theres too few of them. The best action scenewas done by Deepika at the airport, that minute and a half was on parbrilliance and that it the kind that Bollywood should showcaseeverytime they have action in their films.
All in all a film that I thought would be cool but sadly Akki NNikki, the partners in crime, didnt really pull off, what theyshouldve!
