….. Movie….which we all seems to love most !
My Question :
I always fail to understand how movies like Mohabattein, Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham, Kal Ho Naa Ho , Chalte Chalte, Baghban can be hit ?
Are people not tired of adjustments n problems in real life , and they still spend their precious time in watching such movies ?
What they have in store ….
Over-Melodrama , Unreasonable Plots and copy-paste performances ….
Have you watched..............
AB in Mohabattein , Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham n BaghBan !
Have you watched SRK in Mohabattein , Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham, Chalte Chalte , Kal Ho na Ho !
Be Chopras , Johars, or Barjatyas …
They are still selling some old plots wrapped in beautiful packets …
As SRK puts it rightly in his movie……
Kabhi Naye Packet main beche tumko jeans purani…phir bhi dil hai Hindustani ! (Very rarely I like what he does !)
Is it like….These GREAT Directors have nothing to offer ?
Besides LoveStories ….
Boy meets girl…some probs …Dhishum Dhishum….They lived Happily Ever After !
Family Values .
Hard working Dad n Loving Mom duped by unfaithful, not so great children and either younger son or orphan helps them
What’s good and What’s not !
What to enjoy ?
Stale Stories n plots wrapped in beautiful locations …Hawai , NewZealand , Australia , Malaysia !House like palacesDesigner Outfits and Luxurious cars
Just think little Harder….
Hum Saath Saath Hain or Hum Apke Hai kaun …..and so many old films
Baghban or Avtaar or Ghar Ek Mandir etc
Chalte Chalte or Safar
Kal ho na ho or Anand
So nothing seems to be original and creative !
Sometimes I feel, Rex , if people don’t have problems ( that’s why these movies r Hit !) , then why you are wasting your time on thinking on it !Whenever I feel irritated I simply switch to HBO , Star Movies and yes , I am more than Happy to see so many different Stories n styles.
Movies like Dhoop, Astitva, Joggers Park, Dil Chahta Hai, Mr & Mrs Iyer are appreciatedbut are not as successful as Mohabattein Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham Chalte Chalte Kal Ho na ho
In the End :
These great Directors are taking us for granted , playing with emotions and feeding us with same boring storylines.
Remember they can still sell same old ideas coz we buy them at face value !
We r still buying them…It means we are not grown up !

No doubt, they are not as established but I feel they will play great role in Changing Face of Bollywood with creativity and Intelligence !
