New Software keeps on coming in the market, and they keeps on surprising us with their offering. I bought this new one recently, and it is looking good – overall. For a one time lifetime fee of$ 50(Just over 2000 bucks in desi rupiya), this one boasts of showing you over 3000 satellite channel on you PC for the rest of you life for free, without any extra monthly fee or any other renewal/hidden expenses thereafter .
The plus point is the process is simple – you pay online thru Credit Card, or Paypal, you get directed to their official site, you enter your email, and they send you the download link in your e-mail, and you can get the software downloaded following that link. This one works on any version of windows, it requires a software download of 6 MB, which takes around 5 min to get downloaded, plus a few more basic software like Read Player, Windows Media player etc. In case you don’t have those, they give you the link for downloading them as well. Surprisingly, it does no requires any other hardware like a TV Tuner card to run – the software provide by them is enough for viewing channels without any extra hardware.
So I downloaded this one, and installed it, and it was quite easy, like any other installation. Then comes the viewing. Hmm, here it does gives you a lot of options for viewing – the channels are arranged country wise in an alphabetical way, which includes both known counties India, US, UK, Canada, Australia, and also some ah-is-this-also-a-name-of-country type names! The quality of reception is mixed. Some channels are crystal clear – both in vision and sound, a few looks like a you tube video here-start-then-pause-then-again-pause-and-then-few-secs-playing-n-then-pause-agiain types. Most of them are doing fine though.
The range of channels is phenomenal –BUT BUT BUT this is not really for India – it does not show any of those saas-bahu n all the pop channels that Indians watch on their cable TV. It hardly have any hindi channel. Some popular channels that you would identify with are Discovery, Channel V, MTV, National Geographic, ESPN, BBC etc. But No Zee TV, or Star Plus – duno if they gona add that in future, but as of now, nothing like that. The good thing about it is that it also gives you lifetime access for downloading movies and music – old and new classics, and that’s not only in English, but they got a collection of ard 100 million movies and MP3 from all over the world!
Honestly, when I paid thru Paypal, I was expecting something like a gimmick here – reminding me of my kiddy early teens days when uncle jee use to ‘tikao’ us with a video cassette promising 1000 games at a cheapo cheap price, only to discover later on, that it has only 10-15 basic games, and rest are like Mario-level 3, Maria-level 3: super fast(hehe, or something even more disgusting!). But this one is much better buy. Lots of sports channels, lots of great classic movies and MP3 for download, plus lots of radio channels as well, that’s what I basically look out for. I had been disappointed if I expected kkusum-ki-shaadi-aur-ghar-ki-barbaadi types channels – as there are none of those types available I\in this one. For my khoon paseene ki kamai, that I basically earned online converting cents in to dollars, this is overall just okish. But as I said – one time fees, life time access, lots of sports, lots of cultural exchange, lots of religion, and millions of free movies and MP3 to download for lifetime… all this for$50. this is not bad buy …
The product can be given 6.5 on scale of 10, or may be a full 7 for the good collection of movies and MP3 that they are providing. The name of the site is satellitetvforpc – you might have to browse a bit to locate this product though, as they offer a lot of them. For some moronic reason, when I try to give the direct link here, its showing me ‘bad wording’, hehe. So in case you have trouble locating the product, I have give direct link in my profile(Home Page Link), you can check it out, and decide for yourself. As for me, this one is YES for Sports, Adventure, News, Movies n Music Buff. NO for Saas Bahus n ‘Jane-Kahanai-Kaun-Kyo-Kaha-Gayi-Thi’ n extensions. Though their add is damn
good and convincing for sure, hehe!
