I am writing review on Charminar, as I had an opportunity to visit Charminar on 5th February, 2015 during a tour to Hyderabad. There used to be a question in my school days: where Charminar is situated? This has always fascinated me.
Charminar is a land landmark structure of Hyderabad. As Delhi is known for India Gate, so Hyderabad is symbolized by its monumental structure Charminar. This is situated in very busy and congested market area of old Hyderabad. This market is famous for its pearl and bangle. This is a great crowd puller monument from all over India and even abroad. As its name speaks itself, it has four minarets on its four corners. This has been built sometimes in the end of sixteenth century. I with my colleagues reached to top platform of Charminr through its steep and narrow stairs, which is itself a great experience. Even I felt a little breathlessness due to steep and narrow stairs. Only one person can climb at a time.
This monument site is controlled and maintained by Archeological Survey of India and entry I charged. Visiting this great historical place is an achievement for me and suggest everyone to visit Charminar, whenever get opportunity and enhance knowledge of sculptural history of India.
