Fraud Hospital in Kolkata - Charnock Hospital

Charnock hospital is a very well known hospital in Kolkata, located near Kaikhali (Haldiram bus stop). I have a very bad experience with them.

On October, 12, 2009, My mother was admitted there to get rid of a tumor in her leg. The consulting doctor was Mrs. Barnali Ghosh, one of the well known gynecologist there. She operated the tumor and sent it for biopsy.

On 21st we got a call from the doctor herself. She asked my mother to undergo another few tests as biopsy report doesn’t seem to be good. We tried to get the report first to see what wrong had happened with it. But the hospital staffs were not ready to give it to us, they kept on requesting other tests. But when we insisted they handed over the report to us on 24th. It was a sweat gland carcinoma(Cancerous tumor) on the report.

We got very frightened and told the doctor that we are going to mumbai (Tata memorial hospital) for her better treatment.Actually I am working in Mumbai for last 2 yeras, so it was not a big deal for me to take my mother over there. But the doctor (Barnali Ghosh) insisted us to stay there as she can handle the situation.

Then only I suspected that something is wrong as a doctor herself doesn’t want us to go to the best cancer hospital in India. I decided that I will not listen to the doctor and definitely will take my mother to Tata Memorial hospital. I arranged everything (Accomodation, Tickets) within a week and took her to TMC (Tata Medical Center).

The doctors over there were very humble and assured us. They took the biopsy slides (We got from kolkata’s Charnock hospital) for reevaluation, and suggested for MRI and some blood tests. We got every report after a few days and surprised to see that the reports doesn’t show any sign of cancer, it was a normal tumor. The doctor in TMC asked us go back as there is no need to get any treatment.

Now we understand that the report from charnock hospital was completely fictitious and misleading. The doctor herself and the pathology dept over there worked hand in glove to extract money from us, by name of treating cancer which was never there.

We are going to file a case against the hospital and the doctor within a few days. We are going to show no mercy to them for the mental tension and monetary loss they caused to us. We ask every patient to be careful about this hospital and the Doctor Barnali Ghosh.
