My mother was admitted at charnock hospital, Kolkata. on 2nd may and released on 5th may as she was anemic and had to undergo blood transfusion. The hospital charged her for 4 night...the staff said as per hospital policy the billing night is as per calender date, which means if any one is admitted at 10pm and released next day at anytime... They would charge for 2 days. In order to get answer to our query we tried reaching out the nodal officer ms ishita kundu.. To our surprise she didnot receive our call.
I want to know is there is standard guideline or the hospitals can charge patients at their terms and conditions. Shouldn’t the patient party know the terms and conditions at the time of admission.
