Well for Bachan afficiandos this is gonna be a treat! May not in the angry young or old man genre, this is quick witty and a easy to watch kind of film. The actors have done a fantastic job and I believe that it is the maturity of Bachan and Tabu as actors which made the movie look plausible. With a theme like this there is every possibility of the movie taking overtones which the Director dosent want. but the script and dialogues are so crisp that the movie never falters right from the time when Amitabh and Tabu meet for the first time, their creeping in kind of romance, the mandatory showdown with Father In Law and the happy ending.
Perhaps the director experimented a little bit too much with characters like a 10 year old who is dying but has got spunk. a little bit too far fetched.( the relationship with bachan and the dialogues that the 10 year old child speaks) and the worst of all the mandatory overacting by Paresh Rawal, not to speak the script writers over the top idea of Satyagrah. C’mon. Somethings could have been left as natural as the romance between Amitabh and Tabu.
Enjoy the movie. Its worth every multiplex penny that you spend.
