I had my doubts after seeing Nishabd but Cheeni Kum comes a relief. Its a masala movie with lots of comedy and romance and other masala thrown in a intelligent way. All the characters are great and realistic and the dialogues are realistic. Such as: "Be happy sad not sad sad"
I feel Cheeni Kum is where bollywood should be heading with witty, sexy but classy movies. There is lots of subtle humor in this film and it will always keep you smiling for 3 hours. The editing could be crisper but the chemistry between Bachchan and Tabu is to be seen. Some scenes like’dating’ in london were extemely well picturized. A great charismatic performance by Amitabh and charming Tabu holds the movie for 3 hours. Paresh Rawal adds in the laughs in the 2nd half. Can be seen more than once for the comedy.
I give this movie full marks for entertainment value and charismatic cast.
