I had taken my friends who visited us from Dubai and were keen in some sort of "experience". I am a big foodie and had gone to almost all the restaurants in Vashi...I had been to CHENAB earlier.....so I thought Rooftop Dhabha at Chenab will be a great adventure for Experience Seeking souls.
On Oct 18th 2009 we reserved a table for 5 in advance and arrived at restaurant on time. Owner (A Tall Sardarji) greeted us ...jovially saying in Punjabi accent "Ji flight app ka hi intzaar kar rahi thi" (flight was waiting for you). We occupied our seats and quickly ordered for starters.....some soups, chicken and Paneer Papdi (its their delicacy).
We waited waited waited waited waited .......and waited for almost an hour...then with 10 reminders and threat that we will go back...they served half cooked chicken and paneer papdi. The papad was all charcoal (i guess they mis calculated cooking time of papad vs paneer). Still soup was no where in sight. Then the owner came and said please can you change your seat as some political party guys have come and they want to accommodate them. We agreed and shifted to another table and ordered for main course. Still soup is no where in sight....
We ordered for some chicken, prawns, vegetables with no Mushrooms....as one of us was ’a vegetarian’ was allergic to Mushrooms. After 40 minutes they served us vegetables with Mushrooms....a quick barrage of complaint forced them to change the vegetable....they waiter complaint about the political party guys and how much short staffed they are and today is a sunday kind of excuses...
Ohhh and suddenly Shreya Ghoshal (a small time singer ...became some sort of singing star of late) occupied seat next to us....the owner came and showed them how he care for this new born star.....crooks, to our surprise the waiter remembered soup we ordered as appetizer...holy cow...we completely forgot about it by then....Imagine drinking soup alongwith dinner.....;) We politely returned soup.
We started with our main course and the guy sitting next to me found 3 stapler pins in his Biryani :-d we were horrified and immediately stopped our dinner and summoned the Waiter. Waiter was kind of cool with 3 stappler pins in food.....as if this is some sort of necessary ingredient to make food taste better....like some sort of exotic "IRON BIRYANI" ;)
We summoned the owner’s son ( a young fat sardar ...looking completely clueless in life...) he said off its a mistake....come on....you are putting people’s health and life in great danger and you are not even saying sorry...m To compensate this mistake they tried serving us with single scoop of some local brand vanilla ice cream .....we insisted on our bill and speaking to the owner....they gave us bill ...we paid in full ("including STAPPLER PIN BIRYANI") and in the mean time owner came....we complained to him but he shamelessly said ...our guests are sitting here ...I guess he was talking about Shreya Ghoshal .... fck Shreya Ghoshal and fck chenab ...and fck that SARDAR....
we were completely dissappointed....we left that place immediately and when we were at the gate ....we saw couple of more people complaining about the service and food quality....
