Get On The Train Baby!

Shuruwaat se shuru karte hai! Catching the train to Chennai Express, I was gung-ho and completely aware of the madness that I was about to witness. The excitement and sheer joy to watch SRK made me smile relentlessly, as he lit up the big screen.

The plot of Chennai Express is a weak one but Rohit Shetty and team pull it off, making it a complete entertainer! It is said ’Laughter is the fireworks of the soul’ and Chennai Express does just that! It makes you leave all your worries behind. It makes you laugh out loud!

SRK plays Rahul (Yes, ’Naam to suna nahi hoga!’), who is all set to immerse his grandfather’s ashes in Rameshwaram in South India. But, here’s the catch. Rahul wants to be naughty at 40 and decides to hop off Chennai Express and have a blast in Goa.

Here comes, Meenamma (Deepika Padukone), Simran style! With DDLJ flavor, SRK gives the leggy lass a helping hand to board the train. He is oblivious of the biggest blow he is to experience in his life!

The elements of Rohit Shetty movies replete with cars blowing up, a huge unit, drama and loads of laughter takes full swing from here. Rahul musters up the courage to save the South Indian beauty, Meenamma from the ’very tall man’ Tangaballi. Her father a Don of South India, wants his daughter to get married to Tangaballi so he can be ’a very important man’ of South India. Rahul, the Mithaiwala, get his Dulhaniya with outbursts of laughter, action, and foot-tapping music.

Deepika Padukone’s Tamil accent will leave you in splits. The Tamil dialogues add to the masala of Chennai Express. If you cannot comprehend Tamil, nothing to worry about, as Meenamma will help you with the sub-titles. Deepika looks fabulous and shows-off her comic timing with ease.

SRK proves you he is undoubtedly ’The King Khan’! And, you should never underestimate the power of a common man. From pulling off jokes on his movies to the characters he has played on screen, SRK’s energy is infectious. Though his ’Duplicate’ like expressions seem to crack up his face at times, he doesn’t disappoint you. He makes it up with his everlasting charm.

Back together, after OSO, SRK-Deepika are a hit masala jodi.

Vishal- Shekhar’s music can leave even a person with two left feet dancing.

’Kashmir Tu’ is beautifully choreographed with a splash of colors which is a treat to the eyes.

’Lungi Dance’ will keep you glued to your ’seatum’!
