My sister got admitted for labor and got a girl baby by caesarean. During Delivery paediatrician was available. He did basic check-up and left. But After 3 hrs of birth, the baby has some trouble in breathing and found abnormal.
Since this hospital does not have paediatrician on board, we had to take the baby for paediatric treatment to another hospital. So mother was taking treatment in CKH for after caesarean while baby was admitted to another hospital for a week time.
Mother and baby had to be separated for a whole weak.
So for child birth I believe Maternity ward alone is not enough we should ensure the hospital has pediatric care as well.
Also they are bit money minded.
