Hope you know that burkit road is a one way(from Aug 2008) and I pay regular visit to venkateshwara prayer hall in venkatnarayana road! Today(30/08/2008) around 1 pm I used burkit road(the one way) from t nagar bus stand to venkatnarayana road. Vehicles were waiting at the edge of burkit road in signal. I took a left turn towards temple.
Suddenly a traffic policeman stopped me and made to me to produce documents. The other police patrol man said that I need to pay Rs.1050 to court for violating traffic SIGNAL .
I claimed that there was no sign board saying(NO FREE LEFT TURN) and said I have all the documents and follow all the rules. The patrol man asked me, where my helmet was. which I just then kept on my bike tank! he asked my what I was doing . I said I am a software engineer.( Truth tellers are often harmed!) he smiled a little. then he asked where I stayed. then he started filing a charge sheet. I told to stop his ACT and asked what he was filing. he showed a list of penalties and said in your case, it’s 1050. he asked me the money and told me that he will not allow any notices to reach my house!
Fearing my parent’s response to court notices, I asked how much money you want, he asked how much I have. I said I have 500(truth) . he accepted it immediately and said I should not skip the rule. I again argued him. For that he said, EITHER YOU HAVE A SIGN BOARD OR NOT, YOU CANNOT JOIN A ONGOING TRAFFIC ALONG THE LEFT SIDE!
he reader, please correct me if I am wrong. is taking a free left turn when there is no sign board means I am violating traffic.
I am a fellow who is god fearing and doesn’t want to be a bad man. but these thing make me wonder what’s wrong in this world!
