I own an aveo sedan 1.4 LS for more than a year now and have driven beyond 10K kms on it now. My overall experience with this car has been very good. Now I am not much into automobiles. So I am just going to share my experiences in what they call layman’s language.
1) Drive: Aveo offers a pleasant drive. The gearshift is a little uncomfortable in the beginning but once you get used to it, it’s not a problem at all. The pickup is good but it’s ideal if you want to cruise on the road. The steering grips the road, but I have driven honda city and I do not quite admire that toy car feeling. I love to feel the road when I drive.
2) Economy: Car offers me 12 kmpl in city traffic. I took it to a highway from Delhi to Jaipur and it gave me around 15kmpl. I think that’s pretty cool for a sedan in this segment.
3) Service: GM values it’s aveo customers and they have offered good service so far. I had a problem in my car from the suspension pendulum and they replaced it easily. With things like GM’s maintenance warranty in place, I think service shouldn’t be a problem at all. Oh and by the way, I think aveo parts are the cheapest in this segment.
4) Price: At the price of around 6.5, 1.4 LS is a very good deal as it has features like a pre-fitted stereo, seat height adjust and a bunch of other things. I think Aveo is a clear winner when you try to evaluate the car as an overall package.
5) Interiors / Looks: Sexy interiors. No other car in this segment could make you feel the way you feel when you are inside this car. The exterior looks simple, very conventional but very stylish and compact. I hate honda for it’s decorated wedding looks(city i.e).
Overall my experience with this car has been very good, and I love it.
