I bought my Aver 1.4 LS in 2006 November. Since then, have driven 58, 000 Kms. I have been very satisfied with the car. Have taken it for long drives(800 kms) in a day many times and absolutely no issues. What I like about the car is the way it drives over potholes. It is amazing. So barely feel the bumps as compared to other cars in this range when driving over potholes. Infact, in my opininon this is better than some cars above the range - suspension is damn good even affter 58, 000 kms.
I have ensured that servicing is done as per the service booklet regularly and this has paid off very well. Maintenance costs are also much lower that other cars. Typically, every visit to the service center(authorised) costs me in the range of 3, 500 to 4, 000. That too because, I go for stuff like additivies, engine flush etc.
The car gives me an excellent avg. Infact, I have noted all the mileage this car has given me from the date I bought the car. The overall AVG of averages is a healthy 14.2 kms/ltr. Infact on long drives, this has sometimes given me a max average of 18 kms/ltr also. Typcially, in traffic, avg will be 12.7 - 13 with AC and 13.5 to 14 without AC. On highways, mostly anything between 15 to 18 depending upon how you drive.
Interiors are also too good at par with more costly cars. Infact 6 years down the line, the interirors of the 2006 car still look as good as any car that you get today. From an exterior point of view, you can check for yourself. The car design has still not dated. It looks still a beauty and good enough to give cars like Ford Fiesta Classic, Indigo(all models), SX4, Dzire etc a very good competition in looks department.
Servicing and aftersales at Pashankar Pune has been quite good and experience is also good.
Given the overall exp I have had with this car, the maintenance costs, I will definately buy a GM Chevrolet in future. Infact, if the Sail Sedan / Aveo launches a new model, I will definatly go for it. But that will depend, if the current car starts giving me problems, which currently it doesn’t look like:-)
