I own a Chevy-Aveo LT 1.4 from 2009. While buying I had compared it with Ford Fiesta and Honda City. Things I liked most about this car is the interiors design, its wooden finish n the brightness inside cabin is better than any other car in this segment.
The car was fully loaded so I did not need to go find a single accessory it had an awesome sounding music system with 6 speakers, leather interiors, gear cover, aloy wheels, body color rear mirrors etc. The car costed me 7.15L on road in Pune with 3 years warranty cover, taxes n insurance. It has a superior ride quality n noise cancellation in the car is again better than most of the cars even beyond its segment. I have been on a speed of 187Km/hour and this car is absolutely smooth even at that speed.
Comparing it with Ford Fiesta the quality of plastic or metal plates that are used in this car are better but Fiesta certainly has more driving pleasure. Fiesta felt more reliable while taking sharp turns n pickup wise but offcorse Fiesta has 1.6L engine.
Comparing it with Honda City was kinda stupid cause that was costing 10L and was giving nothing except an engine with a driving cabin. Honda does have a better gear ratio and pickup n offcourse market value, resale n all.
Now coming to the downside of this car. The thing I hate about this car is the gear shift its hard n sometime actully sucks. The engine to car ratio also is not that good cause when 5 persons are sitting n the car is going up the hill then you feel like as two of them to get off and push. The A-Pillar is wider so at turns you tend to loose visibility of bikes. This car has a very large boot space, designers should have added some of its space towards the leg room of backseat. The car has something wrong with its doors you have to really hit it hard to close properly.
Do I recommend this car would be the question now. I will spend some more and go for 1.6L variant that has everything same with better speed n pickup. Overall you will fall in love with the interior quality cause once you are in this car you dont need to bother about any external noises and you can simply enjoy the lowest decibles of music.
