It’s been a little over a year since I bought an Aveo 1.4 base model. I have clocked about 26K KMS. I have enjoyed every Kilometers that I drove in it. Now let me come to ownership logistics and expenses in owning this car
An approx of rs2k for every 5000 KM(because I keep getting new scratches on the bumper I get touch up work done). Otherwise Rs800 is the engine oil charge that’s all. No other expense. Spares are changed as per schedule irrespective of ear and tear without any charge. I met with 2 accidents and got the driver door replaced in one and the decki replaced in the other. Since I had insurance I got 85% reimbursement for a total bill of 15000. This car can easily and effortlessly reach 160KMs, with AC on makes noise but still can reach 160Kms. after 25K kms I get a mileage of 12 on Bangalore roads(cannot go to 5th gear at all) with AC. I normally use premium petrol from Shell.
One problem with the car is when u switch on AC u get the smell of a wet sock. I have researched this and found that this is a design flaw. One more problem is that when u speed up u can hear the tires. The cabin is not very sound proof though it cuts most of the on road honking and other noises. The other limitation is the car has to be serviced by the GM guys itself don’t try the others.
