I had an Aveo 1.6 LT for three years. I didnt buy it to sell it, so its resale value was not of relevance. I drove it in Kolkata traffic, so its fuel efficiency was not relevant either. I drove the car for three years and included quite a few trips from Kolkata to Ranchi and back. the car was comfortable, easy to drive and never let me down on the road. It moved smoothly and effortlessly to 170 KmPH on the highways and just as smoothly down to 17KmPH in Kolkata. The third gear was such that you felt you were driving an automatic car in city traffic.
About the Aveo, Ive seen a lot of rubbish about resale value, fuel efficiency and European safety twaddle. Quite frankly, if the amount of talk on these subjects were lessened, the real car might emerge. It is a superb car. Almost all cars in its segment have back seats like English park benches. Not the Aveo.
Roll up the windows, turn the AC on and glide away - in real comfort. You really dont want a paan spitting driver, who is visually impaired and mentally challenged, driving this car - it feels nice to drive it yourself. At 7 lakhs on road price for the new Aveo LT, I would recommend this car, to people who hate plasticky, cheap interiors, who hate bench like seats, who hate fish bazaar car dealerships - who love the best that their money can buy.
