Hi All, My chevy aveo 1.4 has just completed its 6 months and I tell u I am more than satisfied with the car.Firstly I got a gud deal ..coz I was looking for a car around 6Lacs and one that is peppy and fuel effecient in its category.Lets dicsuss in details.
LOOKS: I just like the Looks and the way it marks its presence on the road.Aerodynamic design with a heavy look and the elegently designed front grill makes it stand apart.Last not the least its the Bow sign I always wanted to own.
SPACE: Cabin space is gud .Since I am 511" so I was looking for gud front leg space. Most of the time I am driving but I did enjoyed the ride at back seat and I am comfortable.I drove 500km taking 2 short breaks and I felt there was no back or neck ache at the end of the day .
Boot space is OK, but I felt it would have been gr8 if rear seat had split folding.
INTERIOR AND STYLE:I liked the two tone beige finish as compared to the others.U wont feel the cheap plastic look as compared to many in the segment.Just have a look in Verna diesel and U may feel the difference.Gear knob is one thing I didnt like in Aveo, round shape is not comfortable or stylist atleast for me.Other part I hate is Horn which should be easy to use but here u need to press all the way in the middle of steering.Storage space like glove box is small, space in the side doors serves some purpose(bottle space like in verna is missing).
Power window buttons doesnot illuminate which is surprising fact..did they forgot basics?
Antenna is printed ..which is a cool feature, no worry about lost or breaking antennas.Door open warning is also one helping feature in case the cabin light is switched off or not functional.
Tilt steering is there but I didnt find it of much use, maybe useful for families driving same car.
EXTERIOR: Mine is black Aveo , Looks are gr8 but with time u know that the colour is not as thick as Corsa or Hyundai cars. They definitely have better finish.Clear lens Front light are well designed so are the rear lights.Rear is not curvy as fiesta but stylish rear lights give Aveo a class touch.
DRIVE AND MILEAGE: I drove in Hills , (went to Kullu , Manali & rohtang(13050 ft) from Delhi.)Highway drive is fantastic, 94Bhp engine is peppy enough to make ur drive inetersting.I clocked 15.5KPL on highway and 15 in hills inspite that fuel would have been adulterated. In city like Gurgaon and Delhi I get 13.5 to 14 KPL.This is decent performance considering that you are driving power packed machine.(I try to drive around 2000rpm, which is sufficient for city drive).
It generates plenty of power in 1st and 2nd gear . 2nd to 3rd takes little extra time to deliver, once it gets sufficient acceleration...machine is at ur mercy.
B-Pillars are designed thick for greater safety.U should be used to it , since it do block vision in Hills where u have lot of U curves.
Brakes are gud .. not excellent, but then I have doubt on Hankook tyres which were provided. So do check when u buy one.185/60 R14 tyres gives the looks u always wanted to and walks carefree on smaller bumps.
Suspension are gud enough for pleasent drive considering the fact that I drove on quite bumpy roads but certainly Independent suspensions are demand of the day.
Enjoy the drive friends....
!AFTER ONE YEAR OF DRIVING!
......................Just to add that after 1 year of driving ..I feel the service is very poor in gurgaon...Few problems did arise in this 1 year of driving ..like problem in Power steering ..was not working properly..which was rectified...water seepage into cabin which they say was due to Autocop...and they are still struggling to rectify it....God Bless them and GM
