I am the owner of the new Chevrolet Beat and I am very happy to share my review here. I have brought this eye grabbing car after reading lot of reviews.
Model: Chevrolet Beat LS model
Price in Hyderabad:1 Rs.4.4 lakhs onroad.
Pick Up:
I saw two reviews where they wrote like beat lacks pickup but I can surely say they are15% correct. In the sense Beat got bit less initial pick when AC is ON and FULL but It has very good pickup once the odometer starts moving little bit and you can blindly conclude that Beat might have a little slow start but will delivers very good medium end and high end pickup.
That means Beat is a good city car and a very good highway cruzer. And the engine is very silent and its very refined till 130 kms (I didnt dared to go beyond that).
Beat is the highest mileage giving hatchback car after Nano.
ARAI (Automotive Research Association of India) tested mileage: 18.6 KM PER LITRE.
3 years maintainance free- 3 years or 100, 000 km Warranty.
To conclude, I am surely satisfied with the initial pickup though not exited. And once it gets little momentum the 80 Ps power comes into play--the Beat just races like a eagle --Really I love it.
I suggest you to take a test drive and check by yourself rather than believing me or someone else.
Space:
Space is fine for 5 individuals, leg space is good but boot space is adequate though not very comfortable. I saw one review here in this site on Beat, where he wrote like his feet touching the front seat, Can you believe such base less comments, Can any car manufacturer manufactures such car where therear passengers legs touching to the front seat. I am 5.11 and I cansit on rear seats without any problem.
Looks:
Its looks like a Sports Car withbig muscles. The placement of rear door handle at the top of door gives a really a Sporty look and many people really could’nt trace the rear door handle and asked me to open the door :)) . And When you see it from front you get illusion of seeing a big car because of very big aggressive Bumper. And from back side looks real classy (You can see in the picutures which I have attached).
Ride and handling:
It is Smooth on bumpy roads and have very good driving stability at Top speeds (I testedit till 130kms\hour) and very minimal engine sound at such speeds. When you are riding it you can hear only the sound of the road but not the engine sound and Steering is very responsive.
You can find a little bit of body roll on turnings.
Due to its very big dash board, few fresh drivers may feel problem in viewing the road but will soon adjust to it.
Gear Shifting:
Gear shifting is short for 1 and 2 ans its smooth and feels rubbery so you dont hear any sound when shifting gears and I never faced any problems with gear shifting.
Mileage:
I didn’t test it, once I done that I will update it.
Interior:
Every time I see digital Tachometer which is mounted to steering really gives me a very fresh and youthful look. The Exceptionally Big Dash board gives a feel of a big executive sedan class car and gives a sporty feel. In one word, Interior are unconventional and first in its segment. I am sure you will definetly love the interiors.
Conclusion:
Best value for Money
If youare a beginner and wantsSporty looks car, loves to goon highway and wants features than go for Beat.
