I don want to discourage any of the Magnum fans here. I am one between all of you. The car is a ROCKET ! No doubts about it. I decided that I want it, the moment I drove it. But then is when the problems start. I dont know which audience voted into getting GM India all the customer satisfaction awards they claim, but ask me...I will share the secrets.
SHIVA Motors, one of such agencies which GM has on the ground in Noida and Ghaziabad, is what I chose to go and deal with for my new craze. I was a ripe customer, ready with my advance and choice of colour. The guy there( Anubhav and Achal) did there customary sweet talking advising the family of what colours we could choose and stuff. We were finally happy with a Cashmere. The car was promised 3 weeks hence. Enjoy the story now on - Customer Satisfaction to the core !
On the promised date, I called up the showroom to ask for the time of delivery...thats when I get to know that the model we choose doesnt come in the colour we opted. Rather the guy there has the courtesy to go ahead and tell us that Magnum comes only in WHITE. The entire breed of jokers sitting in car dealerships appointed by GM think they are the smartest asses born on the East of Suez.
Hereon I decided to talk to someone from GM and was lucky to get the number of their Regional Manager. The gentlemen there confirmed that the car is currently readily available in white but acknowledged that the car certainly can come with a slight delay in Cashmere. But the customers friend again had conditions applied to it...saying that the December discounts may not be available to me if the car got delivered in January next year. Isnt it funny? Instead of feeling sorry for the pathetic levels of service they preach, the managers have the courtesy of pressurizing the customer to succumb to their seasonal pressures.
Anyways, I have decided to fight it out to wherever it takes. After all its not a 800 or Omni thats being sold here...
