Recently I decided to sell my old car and buy a new one. I was considering several cars and I really did very detailed study of this car so I thought I should write my review about this car.
This car has stunning looks and one will get easily noticed while driving Optra. Optra is actually C+ segment car but you can also buy 1.6 base optra for around 7.5 laksh (after discounts) and can own one.
While doing test drive I noticed that this car’s pickup is very robust. It went 0-60kmph in say 6-7 seconds.
NOTE: I was driving on Bombay traffic road, on highway it should be more faster say around 5 seconds. From this you can imagine power of its engine.
The car is very spacious and interiors although not very good but ok for this price. The car is very spacious and very comfortable for rear passengers with very good leg room. The car also have very good grip on the roads and its suspensions are best. You won’t notice any sound while driving this sedan and this car really poses true touch of luxury.
Its grear box is not the best I have seen but its good.
Dealer Experience:
I visited Bharati Automobiles Pvt. Ltd. Jogeshwari - bombay for test drive and let me tell you they are very professional people. I was warmly welcomed by Miss Darshana an executive and she took me to test drive and shown me all facilities and explained me all stuff in details. I was really impressed with dealing experience and the experience was better then Hyundai dealers.
Mileage:
This car mileage is around 8-9kmpl in Bombay city traffic with A/C on and around 12-13 kmpl on highway with A/C on. I think this is very good mileage for this size. You can consider overall mileage of this car as 10.5 with A/C on.
accessories:
The car comes with Blawpunk (sorry for spell mistake :( cassette receiver which you can give to dealer for 4.5k). The higher models also come with lather interior but obviously the cost is high for higher models. Higher models also come with dash based in built 5 cd changer from same company.
Service:
The company broacher claimed this car is cheaper to maintain then Octavia and Corolla and have 10, 000 km service intervals. Also company is giving 2 years service holiday (consumables like oil filter and engine oils + labor is free). But when I asked for some spares, the cost is nearly 25% more then New Honda City’s parts. Now don’t get scared those parts are rarely damaged and I think that should not be the problem if you plan to keep car for 4-5 years only and if you can afford to pay for car price then price will not be much problem for spares.
Verdict:
I fell this is very good rock solid car and one will not regret buying it. This car poses best looks in today’s C/C+ car market and is also value for money. However its resale value is not known till today, so if you plan to sell it in 2 years then you might thing twice.
