I am a Taurean, and as a matter of by characteristic I stick by my decisions, it is different matter that the decisions are made more out of heart and than mind. In my college days we did a project on Car Market and I was amazed to know the Chevy has always been among the Top Brands and American Pride.( Even Obama has a personal Chevy) .
I am based in NCR and my job profile requires me to travel pan India.I prefer travelling by car to the destinations which are upto 1000 Kms.( one side drive like Delhi - Banswara, Jaipir, Ajmer( Rajasthan), Agra, Moradabad( UP), Dehradun, Ludhiana, Amritsar etc. I drove Maruti Swift( LDI-ABS) for 1, 68, 000 Kms in 3.5 years untill I planed to give my self a belated Birthday Gift by changing the car in May.
My friend’s marriage was approaching and we were on a spree to testing vehicles including Dezire, Amaze, Verna and finally Sail. Though he did not liked the car but I loved the test drive and immediately booked one and got the vehicle on 3rd day of booking.
Starting was rough:
There was a continuous sound from rear left side and I had to spend full one day in the agency at Karnal. The agency people had a tough time as they tried the best to check the source of sound and in the process took out the entire rear seats( Photo attached) of the brand new vehicle which was very painful. Ultimately the sound was diagnosed which was originating from the loosely fitted rear shocker.
First 15, 000 kms were dreadful:
On day one, one of the 2 sensors got disconnected and was not giving the power which I had felt during the Test Drive. The power was as good as non vista indica. My family was after my life for purchasing the non tested vehicle. The milage was not even 500 kms per full tank.
Cars Recalled: Blessing in Disguise:
The vehicle was driven almost 15, 000 kms when I received a letter from the company the the vehicle has been recalled to change some faulty part due to which few engines had seized! I immediately took the vehicle to the agency in Karnal and they changed the part. I reached the agency in the evening and the Manager Works was eagerly waiting for me to enquire if I felt that whether the Pick-up of the vehicle was upto the mark or not? and My answer was BIG NO. He then explained that during the scanning of vehicle( Thanks to Computerised Engines) it was noted that one of the 2 sensors was not working and was fixed. He even asked me to give the feedback on the pick-up.
It was awesome. I told him over phone. It was a new vehicle. The same I had tested and loved. Since than I have driven 7, 000 more kms and every inch of drive gives me satisfaction.
Best Part of Vehicle:
1: While I was giving a drive of new vehicle to one of my colleague, he asked "You said you will buy a Diesel engine! ", I said yes and he was amazed to know that a diesel engine can be so quite.
2: The control of vehicle is awesome. You will have the best of controls while turning on high speed.
3: Suspension is to good, I have Innova( V) as well and the suspension of Sail gives Innova a tough time comparing the two. As Innova cost more that double the price of Sail.
