Today is almost one year of owning this wonderful car – SAIL SEDAN 1.2 LS and I just thought what can I do to kind of give a return gift to such a great car…. Hence writing this review which is very rare for me.
So, without much ado, I will straightaway give you the pros and cons:
PROS / GOOD POINTS:
DRIVING PLEASURE / Pick up- the BEST feature of this car is its pick up and mind you I tried many cars before I bought this one. Try all cars but must take a test drive of Sail before you make a decision.
Mileage – GREAT is the word. I had Alto, i20 and Beat in the past. This surpasses it. I am getting 19-21kmpl on highway(drive at 80-90) and 14-18kmpl in city which is just great at the power and pickup. And I am sure if I will drive at 60-80, I will get more but I don’t have the patience.
Service – Very cheap / reasonable just like Maruti. Spares are also not costly(unlike Honda city or i20 etc).
Space – Its just awesome…. Try it yourself…. Space for driver, rear seats and the boot all are good. You can even see for yourself. Another innovative feature is that you can place some small stuff under the rear seats also.
Features – Though not as much as Hyundai but yet plenty, depending upon your model . best feature I like is the bluetooth caller, adjustable steering, side mirrors controls.
VFM(Value For Money) – the best part is that you are getting a vehicle complarable to Honda City / Verna at the price of Amaze/ Dezire(Doesn’t stand anywhere in any comparison withSail) or i20……………. why Chevy is not able to market this great vehicle is to my utter surprise. They are too focused on Cruze it seems…if they would have spent even half of what Honda spent on Amaze, the story could have been different.
Safety – the car is of study built as compared to all others(except Volkswagon and Skoda ones). Though airbags is the feature I miss the most in my car.
3 years warranty and road side assistance- unmatched facility provided by Chevy.
CONS / Features I Miss The most
- The features I miss the most in my car model(though available in higher end model) are:
A. Airbags.
B. Rear wipers.
C. ABS.
D. Steering controls.
E. Cruise control.
- Few drawbacks holding the sales of this vehicle:
A. Poor marketing/ advertisements. B. Lack of features.(Though this should not become a great deciding factor for purchase of a car- but it does matter to few). C. Resale value – Chevy needs to improve it with some offers. D. Some problems in previous models but none after 2014.so go ahead with confidence. E. Interiors - Leather finish etc(can improve the overall looks).
- Overall- I think it was a great decision to go in for this car. Everyone has its own priorities but I think this car ticks all the right boxes and IF NOT BUY THIS IN MY ADVISE…. DON’T MAKE A MISTAKE OF NOT TAKING A TEST DRIVE OF THIS CAR AND THEN MAKING AN INFORMED DECISION RATHER THAN GOING IN FOR SOME UNDER PERFORMING STUPID BUT POPULAR CAR LIKE ….(MANY)… THANKS.
