A very good MUV

I have used tavera for 3.5 years and it run 66, 000 kms.It really serves the purpose of an MUV. We can simply keep two computer tables in that. On weekends and holidays I will be travelling with my 9 friends. We never had a space sharing issue ;-) unlike in a scorpio.

The visibility and handling of tavera is superb. A jerk feeling is very less in tavera. Offcource engine noise is there , but to me I like the acceleration noise of diesel engines so it was never a problem for me. Many use to complain about noise level of diesel engines, then an yamaha RX 100 may be too horrible for them. So prefer a tavera only if you are comfortable with disturbances and noise level :-)

In mileage side , I think it is the most economic SUV. I used to get around 12kmpl on city drive with ac full time on. At highways I used to get appx 14kmpl. Some persons used to claim 15 or 16 , but for me , not !. For scorpio on same situation like a city in Cochin it will get on 8kmpl , for innova you can get 10kmpl. But in riding comfort, innova is very good compared to tavera. For scorpio the power is very good, but mileage is very poor. In looks in my opinion scorpio is the best. But leg space is too less in scorpio. Innova is a luxurious car compared to tavera, but outer visibility is poor.

As a family car Innova is prefered, but if you are concerned about mileage or if you have lot of friends, tavera is a best option. It serves good as a family car too. In service aspects I had to spend appx Rs 2500 for each 5000kms and hardly I had to replace any spares other than few cables. The service at Geeyem Motors, Cochin is really good.

The interiors are not good compared to scorpio or an innova. But overall tavera is an economic car , if you are not bothered about a high pickup. The turbo engine safely climb any height with 10 persons, remember it is an engine from hindustan motors and they know very well about indian roads. I never care about roads if I am driving a tavera. I use skoda, indica turbo and an accent simultaneously. On these cars while driving tavera , I am having a feeling that I am sitting on an elephant .You need not to bend to get into a tavera, but for ladies they may have to jump to get into a tavera , my mother use to complain about this every time :-) Sorry if I disagree with any feedback of other tavera owners.
