I have been going through various reviews on cars posted in this forum. In fact I too posted a review after test drive of Logan, a month ago.Was almost on verge to buy a Logan.when this happened. A colleague of mine planned to book a Maruti Swift on a saturday in Sept-07 and was talking to me on that when a casually asked him to have a look at Chevy-UVA. Now the dealer was bringing this car to me for a test drive and he was on his way when we were talking about the Swift. It so happened that I passed on the cell number of UVA sales consultant and this colleague intercepted him on the way, took a test drive and instantly wrote a cheque?
This was a month ago.I also took a test drive and then increased my budget for Logan. But then reviewd my decision on the premise that I get the same BHP, Torque(76 bhp and 11NM) at 40000 Rs less.
The UVA is a great car and I simply do not understand why all the hype is made about Swift. As far as GETZ is concerned its a tad expensive and fuel consuming though a trifle more spacious and powerful.
In UVA you have space, comfort, classy interiors and just optimal power to enjoy city and highway. Some people have mentioned about power being slightly less.How does that matter unless you plan to do a Shumacher on Indian roads and head for the nearest hospital.
Overall a great car and I have just booked it.All Maruti buyers just have one test drive in UVA before a final decision!
