We have UVA ET of Feb07. This is the top end with ABS. The car(product) perse, is Good. Excellent ride quality, manoeuvreability, seating space - especially back seat is good. Fuel economy is also good at 11+ kmpl in city condition. On long route I could get around 14 with intermittant A/C usage.
In just one year we realize some incompetence in service. Chevy replaced our car’s throttle body. Problem - car automatically raises to rpm 1500 - 2500. Difficult to control the car. Requires heavy breaking. Other problem is horn misses in low speeds. One has to own it to realize this flaw. Probably problem with the timing of chip. Lastly, the headlight focus. Chevy doesn’t realize the difference between illumination and focus. As the beam can be focused one can set it to the best possible. The headlight these days comes as a composite. One cannot really change the setting of the reflectors and the bulb. It is retro-fit. This gives a bad angle spread for the right headlamp which even in the best setting spreads light on the road divider or upcoming vehicles.
Don’t expect the car to have a pick-up like Maruti or Xing. Although we are quite content in the city condition, one at times misses the pick-up in single road highway(NH-24) like the one in UP. It is definitely better than vehicles like Tata Indica or Toyota Innova in performance at a signal.
