CROSSROADS
This Review does not have its topic listed and I tried search on this site
by many key words. So I am posting it here.
One of my Pals said Britney Spears is the most beautiful girl in
America , I told him I watch her since the days she used to be the
host of Mickey Mouse Club along with Christina Aguilara.
Crossroads is such a nice word, if used properly a good movie could have
been made.
Challenging the comfort Zone.
When I see a singers Video Track my brain registers her looks and
everythings else she does in the Track in relation to her Voice, Voice
is prime and other things are secondary.
Watching Crossroads as a member of the audience we everyone of
us is at a crossroad in his life for Job, Love, Family, Education, Money
or some other thing I cannot concieve of. It takes a master artist to
Capture/attack/conqure the anticipation created by the title of the movie.
Britney Spears acclaimed singer chose to become a actress in a lead
role, I have heard from a reliable source at the end of Premiere of
this movie her famous words were ’’OOPS’
The cast is carefully chosen, the hero who does not look heroic, the
2 best friends, one wheat coloured beauty and other with lots of
freckles, so they dont outshine the heroine. I cannot let this chance slip
I must ask where there is no shine the question of outshine does not arise ?
The dresses for other artists and Britney Spears maintains a sober
distinction, even the gloss of makeup was highlighting for and subdued for
others, all these careful preparations could not hide the plump figure of
Britney in many obvious places, which was disgraceful to watch whether in
closeup or wide angle frames.
I wonder the director advised a diet of Robert De Niro (Raging Bull) to
Britney insted of Arnold Schwarzenegger who gave up 75 kilos of his body
weight to give successfully the shot in the film Conan the Barbarian where he
is tied to a old tree.
Thats professionalism, sometimes its not wise to challenge the comfort
zone. The thing stuck me like a demolishing metal ball was her dialogue
delivary it was all thru her nose and its affect on me was OH GOD ! I should
get my ears checked , this is the diva of Sound and Voice, the defect must
be in my ears surely.
Singers should remain singers and Actors should remain Actors

Three friends bury a box making a pact to open at high school graduation.
One a Beauty/Engaged/Pregnant , They all decide to go together to Los
Angeles. There is a nice song in the movie, I am not a girl not yet a woman
I needed time for myself to recover from this movie.
Britney Spears has a very beautiful voice which she uses to win in an audition
There she looks in control of everything the stage , the judges, even me
and I am sure whoever was watching the movie at that point.
Her journey to her mother proves disappointing and later tells her father not
to make her run away like he did to her mother. Poor chap agrees to let
her go where her heart is with the unheroic BEN and all the girls go thru
one sad event in life, they bury the remanants of sad times in the sands of
L.A. and promise to stick with their good friendship.
I will give here an apt example of crossroads mother Shirley MacLaine in
Terms of Endearments gets a call from her daughter Debra Winger that
she is expecting a first born, the mother angrily says abort it, I am too
young to be called a grandmother.
My focus during this film was on the face, acting and playing the role by Britney
rather than her beautiful voice, that did it to me, she tried to push the envelop
of her artistic persuatiation.
My personal crossroad is to bury this film with this review on Mouthshut.
I think her eyes will disqualify her for the title of BEAUTIFUL.
