I am an avid reader and yet I avoided buying this book (chicken soup for the soul - part 1) for a long time because I thought it was a cook book. I like cooking but cook books are not on my priority list. my misconception was removed by a friend and I went and bought the book. it was quite expensive at that time (Rs. 550/-) but now the prices have come down. The print quality is excellent and they have those bigger fonts which makes reading a pleasure.
I think that once in a while you come across a book that changes your life. this book (CSFTHS -Part 1) is one of them. This book is a collection of short stories but most of them are real life stories. very simple yet touching stories from day to day life make you aware of the beautiful things in life. The authors are trying to spread the message of love and they are more than successful in doing so. certain stories talk about relationships and every time I read them, they bring tears to my eyes.
These books are not be read in one seating. you should read one or two stories at a time and think about it, savour it and see how relevant is it in your own life. most of the stories talk about love, hope, aspirations, generosity and relationships. it goes to the core of the subject but in a very subtle and simple manner.
i must use that phrase Zor ka jhatka, Dheerey se lagey to describe the effect of these books. the message hits you very strongly yet in a very lucid and simple way.
Now they have more than 10 books on different topics. I have read the first five in the series. these books are Must Read for all book lovers. they also make wonderful and meaningful gifts for your loved ones.
