Don’t get carried away by the title. This resturant is going to soon rule over Hyderabad for all chicken lovers. A first of its kind branch outlet in India of the famous fried chicken Chicking outlet in Dubai, its living up to its reputation. Let’s get down to the details first and then begin exploring the hidden catches!!!
Location: On Jubilee Hills road in the line of our former great Chief Minister’s residence Mr. Chandrababu Naidu. Its a pretty cool place just being opposite to the KBR National park with lots of trees surrounding the resturant and placed conveniently traffic wise. Decent parking space with a very amiable watchman who tends to smile alot. Give him a smile in return and he’ll end up giving you a big salute !!
Ambience: Totally refreshingly tiled with red comfy leather 6 - seaters and the usual steel finished two seaters in the remaining space. Brightly lighted and music can vary according to the day of the week! Go in weekdays and it’ll be totally rad and latest music but on weekends, somehow they end up playing romantic old songs which I personally consider should be vice - versa! Other than that, a totally relaxed place and you can holler all you want if you are out with your gang provided the music is loud to cover your voices up !
Food: Yes, the main issue. Very flexible options available for ordering according to the number of people. Each piece of chicken is delictably covered in a secret recipe which makes each piece ultimate crispy with the right ratio of chilli and other ingredients deep fried for atleast 15 minutes. Let me get my hands on that recipe and i’ll assure one branch in each metropolitan soon! Biting into the tender but crisp meat should be done with care as each piece would be really hot and some of my not so intelligent friend ended up with a swollen lip!
Three pieces for a big man would be enough to fill up the tummy with a later on effect of complete bliss if the right amount of coke has been consumed :D ! Buns been given along with the order are the smallest of its kind available in India and can be finished off in three bites. The coleslaw and the garlic paste being offered is good enough but you can really gorge down on the coleslaw, sweet and cool enough for the tongue to cool it down incase it gets burned down by some hot bite!
Price: Ahem, be ready. Unbelievably for such good food, the pricing is very affordable. For the family pack, you get 9 huge pieces, 5 buns, 3 coleslaws and all the tissues you want. As already mentioned that three pieces would be enough for a big man , all the food lovingladies and the enthu kids who really enjoy it can settle down for two pieces . All the diet conscious ladies and sweethearts will settle down for not more than one and a half piece because its loaded with fats :D . Back to the main issue, the price for the family pack mentioned is ....... 349 rs !!! A 6 - pieces pack is for 249 rs and that might indicate a constant ratio which I think you can figure out regarding other such packs ! For 79 rs , single person , two pieces, one coleslaw, one bun ..more than enough to fill the belly!
Service: Since the resturant’s just got past the one month barrier, the waiters aren’t properly trained and service might be a bit frustrating. Constant reminders have to be given from time to time once to get the plates, another time to get the pieces and so on. Become regular and they’ll drown you with attention . :D . With a very able and experienced manager, still things are under control. The guy behind the counter, it may seem later, is the only one whose efficient and decent enough.
The Catches!! : In the menu , for the burger section, you will be stumped to see that two burgers being offered in 79 rs!! But remember what I mentioned before, the buns are the tiniest you have ever seen. So its a total rip off there.
Another big factor is the VAT being applied. The resturant is supposed to be applying 7.5 % to 8% sales tax on the bill but in practice, they are charging a 12.5% sales tax which is day light robbery! When the manager is approached regarding this, with a blushing and embarrasing look, he’ll say that he’s only following orders from the high command that are the owners! It seems that the on the owner’s instructions, the extra 2 % are being pocketed by the resturant as profit and rest 2% are going to a secret account :D . Guess will have to print this review out and inform them that .. AHem...games up buddy..better shape up..all the intelligent readers at MS now know of this rip off! So keep in mind people ...pester them with the tax fraud till they get fed up with the constant nagging and straighten up.
Conclusion: Food’s great, cost is manageable, only the extra 4.5 % is supposed to be shelved out for which I hope they stop charging. Other than that, if going for dinner, its going to be one hell of a cosy sleep for you with all chicks in mind and stomach! :D
